Inspired by Youtubers Chris Stuckman, John Campea and the Schmoes Know crew, I decided to start reviewing movies myself. Except this is in a podcast format.

I'M BACK-Marvel's The Punisher on Netflix-SPOILERS

I'm back and here to stay. In this episode I discuss The Punisher on Netflix. Fantastic show. Check out my breakdown.

Marvel's 'The Punisher' on Netflix.   What a show.   I never finished Jessica Jones, but most of the Marvel Netflix shows seem to go an episode too many.   The exceptions being 'The Defenders' and now 'The Punisher.'    This show makes use of all its 13 episodes.

This show gave me horror vibes, Sons Of Anarchy flavor and classic 'on the run' feels like 'The Fugitive.'   A little Charles Bronson to boot as well.

The only times I felt the show dragged was the stuff with Micro's family.   Which wasn't entirely bad.    The family dealing with the father figure being absent and Micro watching over them, like a ghost, the whole time added an interesting dynamic.

Ben Barnes(Billy Russo) was terrific.   He has the viewer on his side in the beginning with his cool charisma.   Later we end up detesting him.  Paul Schulze who played Rawlins was fantastic as well; he had a villainous air from the start.   Karen Page(Debra Ann Woll)was ok but only necessary for a particular episode(the tremendous 'Virtue of the Vicious').   Jon Bernthal and Ebon Moss-Bachrach (who played Micro) over time gelled well together.   Amber Rose-Revah who played agent Madani was intense and enjoyable to watch.   I noticed she often seemed to get right in people's faces when she would talk with them.   Veteran actors who showed up where Tony Plana (played Madani's boss) and Shohreh Aghdashloo (played Madani's mother).   They were pleasant to see.   The cast was great, but the standout was Daniel Webber who plays Lewis.   Incredible and disturbing at the same time.

The action was violent and intense.   The backdrop of the show were vets and dealing with PTSD.    How re-integrating back into society after what they've been through isn't easy.   I didn't feel like the series was trying to making social commentary on vets coping.   It used it as a plot device.    Jason Moore who played Curtis was the man who helped vets and showed them empathy.    We the audience want him to succeed in helping these gentlemen.   He was dealing with the same issue.   In between, Frank, Lewis and Billy Russo there were points I thought he wouldn't make it out of the show.   Thankfully he did.

Tremendous show.   Want a modern day, gripping, violent, crime-drama-thriller?   The Punisher Netflix series is here.
